Active Archiving

The preservation of email communications requires active archiving. Traditional methods of data backup are not sufficient technically or operationally. The structure of email, its constant use by staff and its dual purpose as a communications tool and information store demands that its retention be managed more dynamically than regular files and folders.

Active archiving automatically protects email traffic as it is transmitted, ensuring its long-term preservation, reliability and confidentiality through encrypted storage for up to 7 years. eMailgard can deliver fully managed active archiving for your business’ email, including all existing records.

Anti-Spam

By using proprietary multi-level anti-spam engine implements the latest research in simultaneous multi-filtering to deliver an extensive combination of analysis to maximise its effectiveness against SPAM and to minimise the delivery of false positive results. Also included in this security module are Content Filtering and Smart Trust™, which allows users to manually and automatically ensure known contacts are treated as trusted.

Anti-Virus

eMailgard integrates industry leading SOPHOS Anti-Virus to scan all inbound and outbound email transmissions and includes threat reduction technology to protect against new or unknown email-borne threats. SOPHOS is considered to be one of the world leaders in rapid response threat detection and elimination.

Secured SSL based Webmail

Through its operation as a managed serviced at the gateway to the business’ network infrastructure eMailgard also provides continuous on-demand access to email for staff. In the event of any internal network or server outages users can access the secure eMailgard servers via the webmail client and continue transacting email without any down-time, mail queuing or sender ‘bounce-back’ messages.

Additionally the eMailgard webmail interface allows complete mobility and 24x7* access to email. Importantly, this enables staff to access ALL email and attachments within the active archive, rather than just the email residing on the in-house mail server. In addition, as they are simply transmitting email securely within eMailgard, via an encrypted SSL internet connection.
